Approach

At times, it can be hard to navigate everyday life's many challenges and stressors. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe space to process life's many challenges and develop the skills to cope and achieve their goals. I strive to provide my clients with a non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate space whereby clients feel validated, respected, supported, and empowered to overcome challenging life experiences and circumstances. My role as a therapist is to collaborate with my clients and to honour the wisdom and insight that my clients bring to their own lives, as I firmly believe that we are all experts in our own lives and, at times, may need guidance to reach the potential we are striving to obtain.

I take an integrative and individualized approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to meet each client's unique needs. My work is grounded in evidence-based modalities, ensuring a compassionate and effective therapeutic experience.

I draw from a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Therapy (TF), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

By combining these modalities, I aim to create a personalized and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop strategies for lasting change.

I am experienced in working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem, behavioural challenges, parenting concerns, self-harm, relationship difficulties, school difficulties, and family conflict. Likewise, I am well-versed in the military community's needs, challenges, and uniqueness.

Education and Experience

I moved to the Ottawa Valley 13 years ago. Since moving to the Ottawa Valley, I have fallen in love with the community and everything that the valley offers. I completed my undergrad in Psychology at McEwan University in Edmonton, AB, and my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University of Fredericton, NB. I am registered with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario.

For the last 13 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, children, families, teens, and high-risk youth within various clinical, community, and educational settings. Working with various clientele and within different community settings has broadened my knowledge and provided me with invaluable experience and insight.

Presently, I worked at the Phoenix Centre for Children and Families as a child and family therapist. Working at the Phoenix Centre allowed me to work on an interdisciplinary team, which has been an extremely valuable experience. It has allowed me to learn from my peers and collaborate with various community agencies and stakeholders.

As a registered psychotherapist, I provide therapy for a wide variety of concerns, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem, behavioural challenges, parenting concerns, self-harm, relationship difficulties, school difficulties, and family conflict.
