Approach

Life can be complex and overwhelming—even in the best of times. I believe it’s natural and healthy to experience a wide range of emotions, particularly during periods of transition or hardship. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where individuals feel truly seen and supported as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and inner experiences. Together, we’ll also celebrate the moments of growth, resilience, and success.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational and strength-based principles, with a deep emphasis on the lasting impact of trauma, attachment, and neurobiology on our well-being. I am trained in several trauma-informed modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), all of which support healing, emotional regulation, and reconnection.

In addition to trauma-specific therapies, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This integrative approach allows me to tailor support to meet the unique needs, goals, and readiness of the individuals and families I work with.

I strive to walk alongside my clients as a collaborative partner, helping them reconnect with their inner strengths and develop meaningful tools to move forward with resilience and confidence.

Education & Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology completed in Langley, British Columbia. I am currently furthering my leadership development by pursuing a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, deepening my ability to bridge clinical excellence with organizational strategy and systems-level thinking.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse, multidisciplinary settings across both Canada and the United States. These experiences have enriched my practice and allowed me to support a wide variety of populations with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-informed care.

Since 2016, I’ve been proud to call the Ottawa Valley home. I joined the Phoenix Centre as a Family and Child Therapist and now serve as the Director of Services. Growing up in Russell, Ontario, I bring a personal understanding of the unique strengths and challenges that come with rural living—particularly around accessing mental health services.

As a lifelong learner, I am always expanding my therapeutic toolkit through ongoing professional development and training in emerging modalities. My commitment is to provide thoughtful, high-quality care that evolves alongside the needs of the individuals and communities I serve.

I am honoured to walk alongside you on your journey of healing and growth.
